In 1873 this railroad operated its 54-mile mainline from Williamsburg to Patchogue, and also operated leased branches to Rockaway Beach and Hempstead.
Chartered in 1860 and first opened in 1867 as a competitor to the Long Island Rail Road, the South Side was reorganized in 1874 as the Southern Railroad of Long Island and leased in 1876 to the LIRR. This scarce bond is fully issued and complete with all 80 coupons. 36" x 17".  1 of only 16 examples known. Some light age toning and fold splits, otherwise Very Fine.
