NEW JERSEY TO ARGENTINA—Barton Hose 111
is shown just before he took off from New
Jersey Triumph dealer Hank Slegers' shop for
Argentina. Postcards have been received en
route from Victoria, Texas; Mexico City, Mexi-
co; and San Jose, Costa Rica—but there an
earthquake stopped Barton temporarily. When
last heard from both rider and Triumph Club
were doing well.

"It's more surprising than finding a needle
in a haystack” grinned young James Pilcher
of North Hollywood, Calif., as he took de-
livery of a new Honda Super Cub, Grand
Prize in recent House and Garden Show
drawing held at Los Angeles. “It’s the first
time in my life I’ve won anything.”
American Honda Motor Co. Inc., sole
motorcycle exhibitor at the well-attended 8th
annual House and Garden "Do-It-Yourself”
Show at the Great Western Exhibit Bldg.,
highlighted their "economy in transportation”
theme with a registration drawing for a
Honda CA-100 Super Cub.
Hundreds of visitors filled the Honda Reg-
istration Box with their entries and the grand
drawing was held by show officials on the
final day.
No more surprised than winner Pilcher
was Larry Conners, North Hollywood Honda
dealer, who mentioned that on several occa-
sions prior to the show. Pilcher had visited
his shop, admired the Hondas, and expressed
a desire to own one.
Accompanied by his mother, Mrs. Wini-
fred Pilcher, James picked up the keys and
was presented his brand-new Super Cub. A
10,000-to-one shot had paid off for young
Pilcher, and of all the thousands of entries,
his was the only one from North Hollywood.
He had really made a worthwhile cross-town
trip to enter his name in the contest.
