West Virginia and Penn-

This appointment con-
stitutes an addition to the

porated in order to give
better service to BSA
dealers in their territory.
All other BSA Field Rep-
resentatives working un-
der the Eastern Factory
Branch will continue in
their respective terri-

BSA Dealers in the area mentioned above

TRIALS CHAMPION
OF CANADA
Toronto, Can. — John de Gruchy of Wil-
lowdale has firmly established himself as
the motorcycle trials champion of Ontario.
During the past three months he has won
every trial he has entered, except one, and
then he was second.
Trials are tests of riding skill and when
one considers that they are organized and
the sections laid out by a different club each
time, de Gruchy’s skill is all the more re-
markable.
He rides a lightweight Norman motor-
cycle. which he prepares and maintains
himself. He is married and has one daugh-
ter and he is a truck driver during the week.
Last weekend, as there was no trial in
Ontario, de Gruchy and his family invaded
the States. Not only did he win there, but
he led by a whopping 90 points over the
second place rider.
De Gruchy is now waiting delivery of a
new scrambles machine, which is at present
in customs and we’ll be watching to see if
he can dominate this high speed sport in the
same way he has the slower, careful bal-
ancing sport of trials riding.
