    VALIANT FOR '66
All the efforts of the Valiant Manufac-
turing Company have been channeled into
    one model for 1966. Not a mini-bike or a
compact (as formerly built by Valiant) the
new model is termed a “full size motor-
    cycle” in the lightweight category.
Into this machine have been incorporated
many of the best features of cycles and
    scooters. High-strength wheels, large diame-
ter tires, and rigid frame highlight this
model to provide compactness as well as
    maneuverability.
In the technical department: The 125cc
    American-built Clinton engine is a 4-cycle
    unit featuring ball-bearing crankshaft, cast-
iron cylinder sleeve and 4-speed torque con-
    verter. Internal expanding brakes, luggage
carrier and passenger footrests are among
    chassis refinements. Forks are telescopic.
Fenders are large and “clog free” for riding
off the road. In addition, dual sprockets are
standard for street and/or trail riding.
With each machine an instruction man-
ual, parts catalog, and tool kit are provided
for those who like to tinker.
The Valiant service program is quite ex-
tensive; the Clinton engines may be serviced
at any of 7,000 locations across J-he United
States, according to Valiant spokesmen. In
    addition, standard automotive components
are used throughout the machine, such as
    sealed-beam headlight, Timken wheel bear-
ings, tank cap. These items are available at
most gasoline stations. All.screws, nuts, and
washers are standard U.S. sizes and are
available at hardware stores from coast to
coast. Tires and tubes are standard indus-
    trial sizes.
Electrics are by magneto; no battery.
The seat is a 16" fully sprung, padded unit.
Riders have a choice of two positions, with
feet on front or rear pegs. There are brake
pedals on both sides. The Valiant qualifies
for regular license or junior license in some
states. For more information write: Valiant
