Stuart is quite an expert when it comes to riding his miniature drag racing bike.
Stuart Heading is the envy of all his friends,
he owns and rides a special drag racing-
motorcycle and he is only five years old.
    Five-year-old Stuart Heading must
surely rate the title of "The world’s
    youngest motorcycle drag racer”
    □ Five-year-old Stuart Heading is a great motor-
cycle enthusiast, he has always wanted to have a
motorcycle just like his dad’s. Stuart’s father,
32-year-old toolmaker, Tony Heading is one of
England’s top rated motorcycle drag racing stars.
“I decided to make Stuart a miniature drag
bike just like my machine,” said Mr. Heading,
“the engine I obtained from a crashed Honda,
it’s a 50cc, the frame is made from mild steel and
in true drag style, the bike has no fuel tank, the
fuel is contained in the upper portion of the
frame. The front forks were made from steel
tubing with airgun springs inside. The bike is
quite capable of traveling well in excess of 69 mph
in the mile, however, I fitted a throttle-stop to
make sure Stuart does not exceed 10 or 12 mph.
The wheels presented the largest problem in the
construction of the bike. Finding motorcycle
wheels small enough was very difficult, therefore
    I converted a couple of old scooter wheels . . .
the entire bike took about a week’s work to
    complete.”

As every motorcyclist knows, there is more to racing
than just the few moments of glory. . . .
Stuart does his part with the dusting rag.
