Customer's Dream
by Bob Wagner
Some overnight millionaires say that
the idea came to them in the middle of a
dream, they awoke and wrote it down
and two weeks later they were raking m
the cash Well, the same thing hap-
pened to John Glascow of Cudahy Cali
forma, only he calls it his nightmare
Some bike builders wish they could
have such dreams
Bike started out as a 1947 Knuck
lehead but ended up as a real dream
The frame was molded and sculptured
to the enth degree and the peanut tank
was given much the same treatment
Talk about hours with the lead paddle.
John spent them to good use Not even
the fender managed to escape
The engine was overhauled and the
I worn parts replaced John is not too crazy
about wild powerful engines but does
| go in for good performance We must
say that the oil tank underwent some
changes since it is a metal German army
helmet All that was needed was a
bottom John simply cut a piece of
metal to fit the bottom and welded it
into place Ya vol. one oil tank
The forks have been extended ten
inches and support the homemade han-
dlebars An antique light sits in front
while a Bates Custom light warns tail
gaters Glass doorknobs on metal pegs
provide footpegs and shifter lever
All the metal goodies were chromed
and the metal fender tank helmet and
frame were painted by John in a beau
tiful rich candy tangerine sprinkled with
silver metalflake The entire paint job
was fogged with black Seat was made
by John and covered tn Mexico, the only
\jtem not completed by the owner
