    Description

    A real bone skull of the DOMESTIC duck (Anas p. domesticus).  The skull was beetle cleaned and whitened with peroxide.  This skull is complete with mandible, although I have not glued it to the cranium.  There are no flaws or damage that I can see, making it a very nice example of the species. It even comes with its atlas and a few vertebra.   Please note there may be other flaws or damage that I do not see or notice as this was a living thing, and living things rarely show perfection in death.  The skull would make a nice hands on model or use in art or collections.  This is from a male bird.  It measures about 12 cm in length without the vertebra.
    PLEASE NOTE:  This species is NOT a CITES animal nor is it a part of the Migratory Bird Act as it is a DOMESTIC ANIMAL--of which no DOMESTIC species are a part of the act.  This makes it perfectly legal to sell and own these skulls. Furthermore these animals were not taken specifically for its skull, but is a by-product of legal farming for human consumption.
