The American Lux Light Company was incorporated in New York and based in Dunkirk.
The Lux lamp was of Swedish origin and was first manufactured in Stockholm. The original company eventually operated plants for the manufacturing of Lux lamps in Sweden, Germany, England, France, Russia and Poland before branching out to the United States.
The light was particularly adaptable for railway use on platforms and at station yards and where construction work was being conducted.
Very interesting piece that includes a bold Native American underprint which is featured in the third picture in the listing.
