Beautiful antique cameo pin or brooch set in a white gold. This carnelian shell carved cameo is in excellent condition with no cracks or chips (checked with a jeweler’s loupe). The 14kt white gold bezel features white gold lacy filigree work
in a design suggestive of hearts- alternating rightside up and upside down. The top, bottom, left, and right at 6, 9, 12, and 3 o’clock positions have ribbon-like white gold banners that frame this classical maiden’s face. She sports a carved flower at her left shoulder. The entire brooch measures approximately 1 3/8 X 1 1/8" and is stamped 14Kt on the pin latch. The latch has a tiny safety lever at top back and seems to date to the 1920s.
