Measuring 17.5 by 30" sight in a 36 by 23.5" mat, this original lobby poster for the famous William Gillette civil war play HELD BY THE ENEMY was made by the Central Lithography and Engraving Company of New York (No. 569). features vibrant color graphics above a heavily toned and torn Lowell MA Music Hall Monday and Tuesday February 6 and 7 (no year but Feb 6 fell on a Monday in 1899). This version of Held by the Enemy appears to be very rare.
