Chicago, Rock Island & Pacific Railway SPECIMEN Railroad Stock/Bond Certificate

Description

This is an early specimen bond from 'The Chicago Rock Island and Pacific Railwy Company.' It was printed by American Bank Note and measures about 14" x 10". I believe that the specimen was printed in 1897 and that the plate was cancelled in 1948, but the original printing could have been any time before 1948.
It has notations from the lithographer and is in generally clean condition with the original, vertical fold and 'specimen' punch cancellations.
