    Description

Vintage original 11x14 in. U.S. title lobby card
    from the 1920's historical
    historical fiction silent film drama/romance,
    DRUMS OF LOVE
, released in 1928 by United Artists and
    directed by D.W. Griffith
, about an arranged marriage between royals in two countries. The cast includes
Mary Philbin, Lionel Barrymore, Don Alvarado, Tully Marshall, William Austin, Eugenie Besserer, Charles Hill Mailes, Rosemary Cooper, and Joyce Coad.
    The film's director,
    D.W. Griffith
    , is featured
    prominently
on this beautifully-designed title lobby card, which is complimented by deep orange titles against a medium blue background. Printed by the Ullman Mfg. Co. of New York, it is in very fine- condition
    with
a small area of chipping and a pinhole on the top left corner; a small area of light toning in the white background area immediately above the "D.W." in the film's credits at the top of the card; and a tiny 0.25 in. diagonal crease on the bottom left corner with the slightest signs of wear along the bottom 3 inches of the right border. The colors are extremely fresh and vibrant with no fading.
D.W. Griffith is considered the most important figure in the development and history of the American cinema and
    Drums of Love
was made near the end of the great director's career.
