    Description

Vintage original 11x14 in. US title lobby card
    from the silent film drama,
    THE AGE OF DESIRE
, released in 1923 by First National Pictures and
    directed by Frank Borzage
    .
Janet Loring (Myrtle Steadman) is a young widow with a young son. She marries millionaire Malcolm Trask (Frederick Truesdell) but doesn't tell him about her previous marriage or her son, Ranny. Abandoned to the streets by Janet, Ranny (William Collier Jr.) eventually moves-in with a bookseller (Aggie Herring) and her granddaughter, Margy (Mary Philbin). As the years go by Janet comes to regret abandoning her son and takes out ads looking for him. Marcio (Josef Swickard), a vicious blackmailer, sends Ranny to Janet posing as her son, not knowing that the young boy actually is her son. Complications ensue.
The image features the film's major characters and depicts a dramatic shot of Janet Loring (
    Myrtle Stedman
) at the left as she pleads by extending her hands with her image rendered above artwork depicting a cityscape while the other side shows blind Margy (
    Mary Philbin
) being protected by Ranny (
    William Collier Jr.
) with their images being contrasted by artwork depicting a home in a rural setting. Director Borzage's name is prominently featured above the film's title and a text block describing the film is in the middle. It
is unrestored in fine+ condition with light signs of wear on the top corners; a tiny circular area of discoloration next to the right border just below the center; light signs of wear on the bottom right corner; a small stain on the bottom border near the left corner; and a 1 in. diagonal crease and signs of wear on the bottom left corner. The color tints are fresh and vibrant without any signs of fading.
