Lot - (4) Schützengraben Bücher (Trench Book) WWI Propaganda - ID'd to 1st Lt. US 47th Inf.
The 4 paperback "Trench Books: for the German People" are part of a regular series of propaganda booklets by different authors distributed out of Berlin during the war. These four date from 1916 to 1918, are each several dozen pages, entirely in German. The titles have pencil written translations into English on each.
Each book is also stamped with the I.D. of the American soldier who brought them home: 1st Lt. Frank V. Lacy, 47th Inf.
All are in very good condition; with light wear and fading, and moderate discoloration, there may be minor tears hear and there.
Booklets measure approx. 3-3/4" x 5-1/4" each.
