    Description

    THIS LISTING IS FOR THE LATE CARS.  Please see my other listings for early model cars.
    This listing includes both battery cables with chassis ground, a new pair of battery terminal covers, and an alternator-to-starter harness with a new silicone alternator boot.
    The battery cables are made of TEMCo or Flexoprene 2 AWG oil-resistant EPDM welding cable and the chassis ground and alternator cable are made of TEMCo 6 AWG oil-resistant EPDM welding cable.  This type of cable is rated to a temperature of 105C (221F).  I can substitute 6 gauge SGX cable (125C) for the alternator at no extra cost by request.
    The battery terminals are Military Spec MS75004-1 and
    I use TEMCo tin-plated lugs.
    The auxiliary power bus bar is made of tin-plated C110 half-hard copper.  The auxiliary power bus screw and nut are 304 stainless steel.
    The starter solenoid wire is TXL-insulated 12 AWG and the alternator exciter wire is SXL-insulated 18 AWG .  GXL/TXL/SGX is rated to a temperature of 125C (257F).
    The alternator-to-starter harness is sleeved in Nu-sleeve AG-155 rated for temperatures from -40C to 155C (311F).  The Porsche OEM harness sleeved in PVC can't compete with this material.
    The battery cable lug terminations are sealed with adhesive heat shrink tubing, then the cable is sheathed in PET braided sleeve with another layer of heat-shrink tubing terminating each end.

    Also...
    I can substitute Waytek 2 AWG battery cable with SGX XLPE (125C) insulation for the positive cable at no extra charge even though it is better and costs me more.  However, SGX battery cable is stiff compared to welding cable and is not as easy to install.
    Both battery cables will be made of EPDM welding cable if you do not specify.
    The last photo shows the condition of my own 968 OEM wires after 25 years.
