    Description

This is a vintage original 11x14 in. US lobby card from the classic 1930's Pre-Code clairvoyance-themed action crime drama,
    THE MIND READER
, released in 1933 by Warner Bros. and
    directed by Roy Del Ruth
. Chandler (Warren William), a con-man, and his helper, Frank (Allen Jenkins), decide to create a clairvoyant act for the carny circuit, as a little research reveals that Americans spent 5 million on mind-readers and astrology. The carny, renamed Chandra, falls for one of his marks, Sylvia (Constance Cummings), but their love is tested when he brings tragedy to other peoples' lives and she asks him to go straight.
The image features a dramatic interior medium shot of "Chandra" (
    Warren William
) as he pulls his gun on Jack (
    Don Dillaway
) while they each stand on either side of a desk, ready for the next move. This vintage original lobby card is unrestored in fine condition with some small creases of varying sizes in the right background area, most of which are unobtrusive; a small light smudge in the lower portion of the right background area; a light 4.5 in. vertical crease along the bottom half of the left edge with a similar light crease along the top portion of the left edge; and very light signs of wear on the corners. The image area is untouched. There are no pinholes, tears, stains, or other flaws and the rich color tints are fresh and vibrant without any signs of fading.
Provenance: The Morris Everett Jr. Collection.
