Description
Up for auction is a recently acquired red-tailed hawk from an estate in Wisconsin. Given the aging of this and other taxidermy mounts and the other artifacts at this auction, I am estimating that the mounting occurred in the 1930s. The actual size on the hawk is 20"x12"x12" and he does have an attitude! I detect no damage to this taxidermy piece other than natural aging (has wonderful patina) and the tagging of the mount (right wing is clipped as shown in picture 3). I did check with officials from our Wisconsin State of Department of Natural Resources whose consensus opinion was that given that it the mount came from a captive source (an estate auction run by a highly reputable auction company) and that the mount has been tagged that I made a lawful purchase and am entitled to sell this mount legally. I will provide proof of purchase from the auction company upon request.I will be charging for the actual cost of shipping (will vary given the location of the new owner) and I will be also charging a handling fee of .00 which I'll apply to cover the cost of special handling, that is, package actually handled consistently by employees of the USPS instead of going randomly (and perhaps haphazardly) through postal machines. I make absolutely nothing on postage, I actually lose slightly given that E-Bay applies shipping fees to sellers. Bid with confidence on this great red-tailed hawk taxidermy mount from years gone bye.
