    1 CARD:
JOHN WAYNE: "SOMEWHERE IN SONORA", 1933, WARNER BROTHERS, FIRST NATIONAL, VITAGRAPH. FEATURING "DUKE"THE MIRACLE HORSE.
    Somewhere in Sonora
is a 1933 American Pre-Code Western film directed by Mack V. Wright and starring John Wayne. It is a remake of the 1927 silent film of the same name. The story was based on a 1925 novel named "Somewhere South" by Will Levington Comfort.
A rodeo cowboy, John Bishop (John Wayne) is framed for cheating during a competition and is jailed. But Bob Leadly (Henry B. Walthall), who runs the rodeo, gets him out. Bishop agrees to accompany Leadly to Mexico to find the man's son, Bart (Paul Fix), who is rumored to be riding with a notorious g
ang of horse thieves. Things go sour in Mexico, and Bishop is taken prisoner by the bandits Bart is running with. Bishop then has to think of a way to free Bob and get Bart to come back home.
Marion Robert Morrison, known professionally as John Wayne and nicknamed Duke, was an American actor and filmmaker who became a popular icon through his starring roles in films made during Hollywood’s Golden Age, especially in Western and war movies.
